Методическая разработка внеклассного мероприятия для 6 классов
«The magic world of the English and American literature»
Цель – развитие языковой компетенции учащихся по теме «чтение английской литературы»; обобщение лексического и грамматического материала по разделу 2 (чтение) учебника «Английский нового тысячелетия – 6».
Задачи:
Закрепить в активном словаре учащихся лексические единицы по теме «жанры книг», «англоговорящие писатели и поэты», «популярные произведения англоговорящих писателей и поэтов».

Систематизировать знания учащихся о биографии таких писателей и поэтов, как:

Р. Стивенсон
Р. Киплинг
Э. Дикинсон
А. Милн
Расширить кругозор учащихся как читателей зарубежной литературы (провести краткий обзор фонда школьной библиотеки по теме мероприятия).
Воспитывать уважительное (бережное) отношение к книге.
Развивать интерес к чтению, в частности, зарубежной литературы.
Оборудование: мультимедийный проектор, компьютер, экран, раздаточный материал (карточки) с заданиями, бумага для письменных ответов учеников, клей, авторучки, выставка книг школьной библиотеки, название мероприятия на доске (на плакате). Столы расставлены на 4 команды по 6-7 человек.
ХОД МЕРОПРИЯТИЯ
Ведущий 1: Good afternoon dear pupils and teachers. Most children and grown-ups like to read and think that books are their best friends. I think so, too.
Ученик 1: Существительное a book первоначально служило названием определенного вида дерева – б у к. Это дерево отличается большой твердостью и хорошо сохраняется в течение веков. До того, как люди научились писать, на буковых деревьях делали памятные зарубки. Позднее из этого дерева стали изготавливать дощечки, на которых вырезывались разные записи. Эти дощечки для письма также назывались book.Если текст был написан на нескольких дощечках, их скрепляли вместе. Когда для письма стали использовать пергамент, название book было перенесено на книгу из пергамента, а после изобретения бумаги - и на бумажную книгу. Поэтому, словом book принято называть книгу вообще.

Ведущий 1: Clap your hands to our teams. They are “People”, “Comedy club”, “Readers” and “Comedy people”. Clap your hands to our guests and to our jury.
Ведущий 2: We begin our game. The game has some tasks. You must be very careful and serious. You have only one minute for doing the task. You will write your answers on the paper and give me, please. Then we’ll see the right answers. The team will be the winner if it has the most right answers.

“Alice’s adventures in Wonderland” was written for his friend’s daughter.
3 задание - Every team has got only one riddle to read and you must guess what does it mean.

3. What is Black and white and read all over? (a newspaper)
4. Twenty-six sisters live in the English house. Who are they? (letters)
4 задание – In the envelope you can see the parts of the cover of the book. You must have the right picture of this book. After that you’ll tell about it for guests and other teams.

One evening Mike’s father gives Mike a new book. “Read this book, Mike”, says Father. “All boys and girls like it.”
“Thank you, Father”, says Mike and takes the book.
But this evening Mike is very sleepy. He only looks at the pictures of the book. Then he puts it on the bookshelf and goes to bed. And at night he has a dream. In his dream he opens the book and looks at the pictures. At one of them he sees a boy.
But what is it? The boy comes out of the book and says, “How do you do? What’s your name?”
“My name is Mike. But who are you?” asks Mike.
“My name is Tom”, says the boy. “I have Brother Sid. We live with our Aunt Polly. What about you, Mike? Have you got any brothers and sisters?”
“No, Tom, I haven’t”, says Mike.
“No brothers and no sisters? I say, Mike. Let us be friends. I have a lot of friends”, says Tom.
“Well”, says Mike … And he wakes up. He opens his eyes and gets up. Then he goes up to the bookshelf.
“Where is that book?” says Mike. “It must be very good. I must read it.”
Well, boys and girls. Who is Mike’s new friend?

6 задание: This famous writer wrote a lot of books. And he wrote about reading and books. You have the parts of the statement. Write the phrase and translate it.
KEY:
A classic is something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read.
Классика – это то, что каждый хочет прочитать, а никто не читает.
Ведущий 1: Dear pupils, look around! Here you see a nice big exhibition of books of English and American writers. Do you know their names? Have you read any of these books? We are sure, you have read some of them at least in Russian.

Ведущий 2: When you are a visitor of the library you should be well-mannered. You should know these rules. Let’s read them all together.

Do not make “dog’s ears” in the book.
Do not tear the pages.
Do not lose your books.
Return the books in time.
